The newly constituted Delhi Assembly is set to hold its first session starting Monday, as announced by officials on Friday. The session will unfold over four days, specifically February 24, 25, and 27, allowing for the presentation of 14 pending CAG audit reports linked to the performance of the previous AAP governance.
During the initial two days of the session, the newly elected MLAs will undertake their oath of office. The assembly will observe a one-day break for Shiv Ratri on February 26, before resuming to address the critical matter of CAG reports, which will be presented under the current BJP administration.
Mounting political tension is evident as the BJP, having secured 48 seats and thereby forming the new government, stands opposed by the Aam Aadmi Party's 22 seats. Previously under AAP's rule, BJP had moved the court to ensure the tabling of the CAG reports, alleging AAP's attempt to suppress findings of 'corruption'.
