Rajasthan Assembly Turmoil: Six Congress MLAs Suspended

Six Congress MLAs, including PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra, faced suspension from the Rajasthan Assembly for the remainder of the Budget Session. This decisive action came as a result of what officials described as 'indecent behavior' in response to remarks made by Minister Avinash Gehlot about former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The disruption caused significant uproar, leading to three separate adjournments throughout the session. The government claimed that the behavior of these MLAs crossed all permissible boundaries and demonstrated inappropriate conduct towards the Speaker, a breach that could not be overlooked.

Upon reconvening at 4 pm, Government Chief Whip Jogeshwar Garg proposed the suspension of Congress MLAs Govind Singh Dotasra, Ramkesh Meena, Amin Kagzi, Jakir Hussain, Hakam Ali, and Sanjay Kumar. The proposal was accepted via voice vote, and Speaker Vasudev Devnani subsequently adjourned the House till February 24.
