In the wake of President's Rule, Manipur's government has carried out a major reshuffle affecting 11 officials, among them six senior police officers. This administrative overhaul was confirmed by an official statement released on Friday.
Key transfers include Superintendent of Police Babitarani Swain, who moves from Tamenglong to Chandel district, and shifts within the Inspector General ranks. Kabib K transitions to IGP Zone-III while Ningshen Worngam receives a promotion to IGP (Int/NAB), moving up from his role as DIGP (NAB).
The reshuffle follows the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren Singh that has culminated in political turmoil in the state, leading to the assembly being suspended despite it having a tenure until 2027.
