Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed his party's soaring confidence as local bodies elections approach, predicting a dominant victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Saini emphasized that the overwhelming public enthusiasm signals a landslide win for BJP, highlighting the people's trust in a 'triple-engine' government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Saini took pointed jabs at the opposition, critiquing Congress for operating primarily on social media without substantial on-ground presence. 'Congress is running its party on Twitter and has lost its foothold in Haryana,' Saini remarked in a media briefing.
Further attacking the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Saini accused the Delhi government of spreading falsehoods, asserting that the populace has rejected their narrative in favor of PM Modi's vision for a developed India. Meanwhile, internal strife within Haryana Congress surfaced as seven leaders were expelled for 'anti-party activities' ahead of 2025 municipal elections. These expulsions come amid concerns raised by state Congress President Udai Bhan over electronic voting machines and representation for the SC community. The municipal elections are set for March 2, 2025, with results expected by March 12, 2025.
