On Saturday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan underscored the pivotal role of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in India's transformation into a developed nation by 2047. While addressing the 101st Convocation at the University of Delhi, Pradhan noted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision behind the NEP 2020, stressing its thorough implementation as crucial for progress.

In highlighting India's demographic advantage, Pradhan pointed out that 60 percent of the population is comprised of youth under 35, positioning them as the driving force for the country's future. He emphasized the critical role of interconnected knowledge through advancements in communication, the internet, AI, and ML, framing education's importance in harnessing this youthful energy.

Earlier in the day, Pradhan participated in the Vedica Scholars Programme's convocation, advocating for increased women's workforce participation. He remarked on India's inherent strength in empowering women and challenged the graduates to transition from job seekers to job creators. Meanwhile, the DMK opposed the three-language policy, with spokesperson TKS Elangovan voicing concerns about religious impositions in Tamil Nadu's education system.
