Political Showdown in Delhi Assembly: AAP vs BJP Over CAG Report

Amid rising tensions, the Delhi Assembly witnessed a stormy session as AAP leaders launched fierce critiques against the BJP. The core issue was the demand to table the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, which AAP believes will uncover truths about financial misconduct during the previous administration.

Gopal Rai, an AAP MLA, accused the BJP of distorting the legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh. "The disrespect shown towards these iconic figures highlights BJP's real motives," Rai stated. Another AAP MLA, Mukesh Ahlawat, alleged the BJP harbors an anti-Dalit and anti-Sikh mentality, criticizing them for their actions.

Leader of Opposition Atishi further charged that the BJP replaced Ambedkar's portraits with those of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in key government offices. She questioned whether Modi's stature surpasses Ambedkar's. The proceedings turned chaotic, leading to the suspension of 12 AAP MLAs by Speaker Vijender Gupta, amid loud protests as the Assembly prepared to present the CAG report.
