Cricket Politics: BJP vs. Congress in Telangana MLC Polls

Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar likened the BJP-Congress MLC poll contest in Telangana to an India-Pakistan cricket match, sparking criticism from Congress. State Congress President B Mahesh Kumar Goud condemned the analogy and accused the BJP of inciting communal tensions for political gain.

The political landscape in Telangana took a dramatic turn when Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar equated the BJP-Congress contest in the February 27 MLC poll to an India-Pakistan cricket match.

This analogy sparked an outrage from the state's ruling party, fueling the already tense pre-election atmosphere.

Congress leaders, including state president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, criticized the BJP for allegedly using communal rhetoric to gain electoral advantage, arguing that cricket should remain just a sport, not a tool for political strategy.
