In a decisive statement, Congress MLC Yathindra has quashed rumors of a leadership change in Karnataka, confirming that his father, Siddaramaiah, will remain the state's Chief Minister for the entirety of his term. This announcement comes amid persistent speculations of a power-sharing deal within the ruling Congress party.
Yathindra's remarks were bolstered by the recent clean-chit awarded to Siddaramaiah by the Lokayukta Police in the controversial MUDA site allotment case. Emphasizing that the accusations were false, he conveyed the party's unified support behind the Chief Minister, underscoring his political stability and resilience in the face of opposition allegations.
Despite whispers of a rotational chief ministerial arrangement with Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, the party has not confirmed any such plans. Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah has not indicated plans to contest future elections but remains committed to leading the Congress to victory in forthcoming electoral battles.
