Tamil Nadu's Cultural Stand: Resisting Language Imposition

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has amplified his stance against the alleged imposition of Hindi and Sanskrit by the Indian government. On Thursday, he emphasized that the state will staunchly resist any attempts to undermine Tamil language and culture.

Stalin wrote to party members, criticizing the National Education Policy (NEP) for promoting Hindi hegemony. He argued that this policy endangers numerous north Indian languages and promotes Sanskrit while sidelining regional tongues like Tamil.

The Chief Minister also highlighted concerns about the prioritization of Sanskrit over other Indian languages in educational curriculums, pointing to instances in BJP-ruled states like Rajasthan. He reaffirmed Tamil Nadu's commitment to the two-language policy and the protection of Dravidian heritage.
