YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has strongly condemned the arrest of prominent Telugu actor, writer, and director Posani Krishna Murali. Assuring all possible support to his wife, Kusuma Latha, Reddy made a phone call to express the party's solidarity amidst what is termed as a politically motivated arrest.

Posani was detained by the Annamayya district police from Andhra Pradesh, in Hyderabad, under several sections of BNSS and BNS laws. This action followed close on the heels of the arrest of former MLA and YSRCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi, drawing accusations from YSRCP leaders of an attack on democracy orchestrated by the TDP-led NDA government.

The opposition YSRCP leaders collectively decried the arrest as unfair given Posani's departure from politics and deteriorating health condition. Meanwhile, Posani's wife criticized the police for not adhering to the arrest warrant date and for disregarding her husband's medical needs. She claimed the arrest's timing was politically motivated to create chaos in the state.
