The Himachal Pradesh Police Headquarters has dispatched 490 personnel to support Shimla police in maintaining law and order during the upcoming state assembly budget session. The operation aims to ensure smooth proceedings as the assembly commences on Monday.

The session, starting with Governor Shiv Pratap Shula's address, will include Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu's third budget presentation on March 17, set for a vote on March 26. The personnel collaborated includes 447 regular staff, 17 from the Special Security Unit, and 26 additional Quick Response Team officers from the 1st and 5th Indian Reserve Battalion.

In the previous 2024 session, 494 officers were similarly designated, with further reinforcement of 200 personnel amid unrest. The Police Headquarters urged efficient resource use while promising additional support if required.
