His comments came in response to contentious remarks made by Congress spokesperson Shama Mohamed about the Indian cricket team's captain, Rohit Sharma.

In a strong statement, Deputy CM Maurya asserted that Rohit Sharma delivered an appropriate response by leading India to win the Champions Trophy. Maurya also called for an apology from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi, stressing action against Mohamed to prevent future occurrences.
