In a bold move, Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi declared on Monday that the party intends to contest the 2027 elections in Goa and Gujarat without allying with Congress.
During her visit to Goa to inaugurate a new party office in Margao, Atishi asserted, "We are preparing to independently contest the elections in Goa and Gujarat. Currently, there are no plans for alliances." She pointed out that the citizens of Goa elected the BJP in 2022, yet eight Congress MLAs defected to the BJP despite Congress securing 11 seats initially.
Criticizing BJP, Atishi accused the party of failing to fulfill its electoral promises in Delhi, including financial aid for women and sustaining key public services. "Despite all the tactics used against us, there was only a 2% gap between BJP and AAP in Delhi elections," she remarked, emphasizing AAP's focus on welfare over politics for profit.
