In a heated political standoff, DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi has lodged a breach of privilege notice against Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Accusations flew in the Lok Sabha as Karunanidhi claimed Pradhan's statements about Tamil Nadu's stance on the PM-SHRI scheme misled the House and tarnished the state's image.

The controversy erupted after Pradhan accused Tamil Nadu's government of reversing its stance on a federal educational agreement. The remarks, described by Karunanidhi as defamatory and misleading, have intensified the ongoing scrutiny over the National Education Policy, particularly its three-language stipulation, vehemently opposed by Tamil Nadu.

Slamming Pradhan's accusations as baseless, Karunanidhi emphasized that such statements undermine the integrity and dignity of Tamil Nadu's elected representatives. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister, MK Stalin, condemned Pradhan's assertions, further inflaming the debate around educational reforms and regional autonomy.
