In a major escalation of the ongoing conflict, Russia's military announced on Tuesday that its air defenses intercepted 337 drones launched by Ukraine across 10 regions. This incident is being described as the most significant drone strike in the three-year history of the conflict between the two nations.

The attack, which resulted in one fatality and several injuries, occurred as a Ukrainian delegation was preparing to meet with the U.S. Secretary of State in Saudi Arabia to discuss potential diplomatic solutions to the prolonged war. The Kursk region, neighboring Ukraine and partially under Kyiv's control, witnessed the highest intensity of the attack, with 126 drones shot down, according to Russia's Defense Ministry.

Notably, 91 drones were intercepted over the Moscow region. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin revealed that over 70 drones targeted the city, resulting in minor damage to a building. The attack also sparked fires and caused damage in residential areas and airports, grounding flights and halting train traffic temporarily.
