In a surprising revelation, Prakash Solanke, a Nationalist Congress Party MLA and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's ally, claimed he spent between Rs 10 to 12 crore on his election campaign, a figure that surpasses the expenditure cap set by the Election Commission.

Solanke, a fourth-term legislator from the Majalgaon constituency, initially made these comments at a public event. However, he later retracted them, stating they were made in jest and that he actually spent only Rs 23 lakh.
