An FIR was registered by Agra police against an unspecified group on Thursday, following an assault on the house of Samajwadi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Lal Suman. The attack, reportedly orchestrated by Karni Sena members, was a reaction to Suman's contentious remarks about Rajput ruler Rana Sanga.
Ramgopal Yadav, an SP leader visiting the attacked residence, accused the authorities of being aware of the attack in advance without acting to prevent it. He labeled the violence against the MP, which involved the mob arriving with bulldozers and weapons, as a deliberate law enforcement oversight.
The incident coincided with a public function in the city attended by Chief Minister Adityanath, raising questions about the administration's response. Meanwhile, Karni Sena's chief cautioned against unlawful actions, while also offering reparations for the damage caused.
