In a strategic move to bolster its grassroots foundation, the Congress party's top leadership convened a meeting on Thursday with district unit chiefs. The gathering led by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi emphasized unity and long-term strategy in preparation for upcoming state elections.
Highlighting the critical role of District Congress Committees (DCCs), Kharge underscored that a strong ideological stance necessitates attaining power to implement change. Rahul Gandhi echoed this sentiment, stressing DCCs' vital role in ensuring Congress' success and India's fairness.
This meeting marked the first in a series aimed at strengthening DCCs, following the directives of the 2022 Udaipur Chintan Shivir. The Congress leadership is also focusing on economic strategies to empower these committees, as outlined by Congress' publicity department head, Pawan Khera.
Kharge also took a swipe at the BJP and alleged that they orchestrate communal issues to distract the public.
