Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched a scathing attack on the DMK government in Tamil Nadu, accusing it of fostering corruption and neglecting the promotion of the Tamil language in medical and engineering education. Shah asserts that the state's previously progressive stature has waned under the current leadership, leading to public discontent.
Speaking at the Times Now Summit 2025, Shah expressed confidence in the NDA's victory in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections. He criticized the DMK for its opposition to the Lok Sabha delimitation exercise, suggesting it as an electoral ploy, and said such governance complexities are propelling businesses and youth to emigrate.
Emphasizing the provision of education in the mother tongue as per the National Education Policy, Shah urged translational work for technical courses in Tamil. Furthermore, he hinted at a potential electoral alliance between the BJP and AIADMK, suggesting ongoing strategic dialogues aimed at forthcoming elections.
