Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam has leveled serious allegations against comedian Kunal Kamra, charging him with receiving Rs 4 crore from foreign entities in violation of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).
Speaking at a press conference, Nirupam claimed that the funds originated from donors in countries including Canada, Australia, the US, Saudi Arabia, and other Arab nations, suggesting that Kamra has been funded by anti-India organizations. He emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating that the party would approach central agencies to take action against Kamra.
The controversy arises in the wake of Kamra's jibe at Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde. Nirupam further alleged that Kamra was under the influence of Matoshree, the residence of Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray. As tensions simmer, the accusations have sparked a political storm in Maharashtra.
