Political Shake-Up in Bihar: Former NDA Leaders Join Congress
Two senior NDA leaders in Bihar, Anil Singh and Shambhu Patel, have joined the Congress. The move, seen as strategic ahead of upcoming elections, was facilitated by state Congress president Rajesh Kumar. Singh returns to Congress, where his father once served, while Patel leaves feeling stifled under current leadership.

In a significant political shift in Bihar, two senior leaders from the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have defected to the Congress party, months before the state assembly elections. This move could potentially change the dynamics of the upcoming polls.
Anil Singh, a former BJP leader, and Shambhu Patel, previously aligned with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U), were warmly welcomed into the Congress by the state unit president, Rajesh Kumar, who described the induction as a homecoming for Singh. Singh's political roots run deep, as his father, Ram Raj Singh, served as a minister for Congress when it ruled the state.
Singh, who has twice represented the now-defunct Chandi assembly seat, once with Congress and later with the Samata Party, will potentially strengthen the party's foothold. Meanwhile, Patel, a former JD(U) state general secretary, cited feeling stifled in his previous party. The BPCC president believes their inclusion will bolster Congress in the forthcoming electoral battle.
