Assam Panchayat Polls See Impressive Turnout

The second phase of the panchayat polls in Assam saw a strong voter turnout of 79.23%. Held across 13 districts, the highest participation was in Dhubri at 88.63%, while Kamrup (Metro) saw the lowest at 71%. A total of 91,31,127 people were eligible, with the elections deciding the fate of 29,608 candidates.

In total, 91,31,127 voters participated, with no reports of unrest or repolling, while 29,608 candidates contested various local governing positions.
