European Defence Commissioner Andrius Kubilius has emphasized the need for closer collaboration between the European Union and Ukrainian defence industries. Highlighting the importance of increased production and innovation to counter Russian aggression, Kubilius urged for a united front during a forum in Brussels.
Kubilius announced the formation of an EU-Ukraine task force, aimed at facilitating the integration of defence sectors and the development of joint projects and procurement processes. The former Lithuanian prime minister praised Ukraine's innovative advancements, particularly in drones and artificial intelligence.
Kubilius stressed that Europe's future security will significantly rely on Ukraine's role within a new European security framework. He envisions Ukraine as an integral component of Europe's strategic defence initiatives.
