India's Manufacturing Surge: Modi vs. Gandhi Debate

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a vehement criticism against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asserting that his comments disregard the transformative progress India has achieved under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gandhi accused Modi of prioritizing slogans over substantive solutions, claiming a downturn in Indian manufacturing despite the 'Make in India' push.

BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari highlighted significant strides in India's manufacturing sector, referring to Operation Sindoor as a testament to India's indigenous capabilities. He noted that, under Modi, engineering exports have surged by 60%, and defense exports have skyrocketed from Rs 686 crore to over Rs 23,000 crore.

Spearheading the defense of Modi's initiatives, Amit Malviya of the BJP pointed to data showing advancements under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, including a dramatic rise in electronics production and mobile phone manufacturing. Malviya emphasized India's shift from an importer to a manufacturing powerhouse, strengthening its global economic standing.
