Controversy Sparks Over Anbumani's Padayatra

PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss plans a padayatra starting July 25 to highlight the deprivation of rights in Tamil Nadu. The Pattali Makkal Katchi founder, S Ramadoss, has called for a ban on the proposed padayatra by his son, Anbumani Ramadoss, citing potential for law and order disturbances. The padayatra is expected to commence on July 25 in North Tamil Nadu.

Addressing reporters, Ramadoss confirmed that a complaint was lodged with the Director General of Police seeking immediate intervention to prevent the march. He further revealed awareness of a bugging device planted at his residence but refrained from commenting further due to ongoing investigations.

Anbumani's padayatra aims to reclaim fundamental rights, spanning women's safety, employment, education, and governance. The march emerges amid familial tensions within PMK regarding party control. Anbumani asserts that Tamil Nadu's regime suppresses 10 constitutional rights, demanding their restoration.
