Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pradeep Bhandari launched a scathing attack on Congress MP P Chidambaram over his remarks regarding Operation Sindoor, asserting that the Congress party has become 'Pakistan's main spokesperson.' Bhandari criticized Congress for allegedly exonerating Pakistan post-26/11 and demanding proof of the 2016 surgical strike.
Bhandari claimed, 'From Chidambaram's statement, it's clear that Congress is defending Pakistan even better than Pakistan itself. They questioned Pakistan's involvement in the Pahalgam attack.' Echoing his sentiments, BJP National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia accused Congress of prioritizing Pakistan over national security.
The controversy follows Chidambaram's comments challenging the government's account of the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. He questioned the origin of the terrorists and the government's reluctance to release factual details, suggesting the possible involvement of homegrown terrorists instead.
