CPI MP Urges Withdrawal of Agniveer Scheme After Soldier's Sacrifice

CPI member P Sandosh Kumar has called for the withdrawal of the Agniveer scheme following the death of Agniveer Murali Naik during Operation Sindoor. Kumar, addressing the Rajya Sabha, criticized the scheme for not providing long-term support to families of fallen soldiers and weakening the armed forces.

In a poignant appeal, CPI member P Sandosh Kumar has demanded the withdrawal of the Agniveer scheme, citing the recent martyrdom of Agniveer Murali Naik during Operation Sindoor. Kumar highlighted the national disgrace that Naik's family is ineligible for pension or benefits under the current scheme.

During a special discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Rajya Sabha, Kumar criticized the Agnipath recruitment policy for undermining the sacrifices of military personnel and weakening the armed forces' structure. He urged the government to address vacancies in a dignified manner to honor the service of soldiers.

Kumar emphasized the unity of all political parties, including the CPI, against terrorism and questioned whether diplomatic or geopolitical factors influenced the Modi government's potential decision to halt Operation Sindoor prematurely.
