Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has expressed strong criticism towards the practice of political parties launching media outlets. He claims these outlets primarily serve to protect their interests, thereby compromising true journalism.
Speaking at the 10th anniversary of Telugu daily 'Nava Telangana', Reddy emphasized that political party-owned media detracts from unbiased journalism by masking irregularities, safeguarding wealth, and attacking dissenters.
He urged journalists to maintain independence and voiced the necessity for seminars to define journalistic standards. Reddy also commended the Communist party for its role in raising public issues in Andhra Pradesh, likening them to essential 'salt' in the political landscape.
