The BJP has called for an apology from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks regarding the late Arun Jaitley. Gandhi claimed that Jaitley threatened him over opposition to the farm laws, a statement strongly refuted by the ruling party, highlighting that Jaitley passed away before the laws were introduced.
Senior BJP figures, including Ravi Shankar Prasad and Anurag Thakur, have accused Gandhi of fabricating the story to suit his narrative, noting the chronological inaccuracy of his allegation. Jaitley's son, Rohan Jaitley, has also criticized Gandhi's comments, urging respect for the deceased.
Amidst backlash, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant have condemned Gandhi's tendency to invoke deceased leaders for political gains, warning against distorting facts for personal agendas.
