The Lok Sabha is gearing up for a significant session on Friday as Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya prepares to present the National Sports Governance Bill of 2025 for consideration and passage. Also on the agenda are crucial amendments to the National Anti-Doping Act of 2022, signaling a busy day for the legislative body.
The National Sports Governance Bill aims to foster the development and promotion of sports through ethical practices aligned with the Olympic and Paralympic Charters. Meanwhile, Union Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will introduce the Indian Ports Bill of 2025, which focuses on consolidating port laws and enhancing the usage of India's expansive coastline.
Adding to the day's agenda, private members' bills and various committee reports on the welfare of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) are also expected to be taken up. Reports covering the improvement of OBC schemes and the functioning of recruitment organizations will be discussed, aiming to address public grievances and drive systemic reforms.
