Barrack recently met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to not only discuss disarmament but also to consider economic strategies for Lebanon's post-war reconstruction. Meetings with other key Lebanese figures, including Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Speaker Nabih Berri, are in the pipeline.

This initiative has been met with resistance from Hezbollah leaders, raising concerns about potential civil unrest. President Aoun is pushing for increased military funding and international financial support to aid in Lebanon's rebuilding efforts post-conflict, which cost an estimated USD 11.1 billion according to the World Bank.
