Unity in Progress: Arunachal's 50-Year Legislative Legacy

During a special assembly session marking its 50th anniversary, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein emphasized the goal of developing the state by 2047 with reforms. The session celebrated past achievements and ongoing projects, while highlighting Prime Minister Modi's initiatives to honor freedom fighters and contributors to India's growth.

Arunachal Pradesh celebrated the golden jubilee of its assembly with Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein urging legislators to strive for a developed state by 2047. At the session, the emphasis was on the government's reform measures, executed under Chief Minister Pema Khandu's leadership, aimed at transforming the state's prospects.

Mein praised the legacy of past and present lawmakers, highlighting significant development over 50 years. He noted the recognition of over 220 unsung heroes as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and reflected on the assembly's transformation from its modest 33-member origins in 1975 to today's 60-member house.

The session underscored the importance of maintaining a non-disruptive legislative process, with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona and others sharing insights on Arunachal's legislative history and development aspirations. The event concluded with presentations, including a documentary and a commemorative journal by Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik.
