Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has declared his assurance in the triumph of the Mahayuti alliance during the forthcoming local body elections. This confidence is backed by the recent inclusion of three ex-corporators from the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation into the Shiv Sena, namely Prema Mhatre, Pramila Patil, and Shailaja Bhoir, along with multiple opposition members from rural Kalyan.
Shinde highlighted the Mahayuti government's achievements, citing their actions to eliminate obstacles set by previous administrations and the allocation of Rs 45,000 crore for farmer relief efforts. He proudly proclaimed the coalition's significant majority of 232 seats in the assembly polls and forecasted a clean sweep in the upcoming local body elections.
Addressing criticisms from the opposition regarding electronic voting machines (EVMs), Shinde disparaged the inconsistency of their arguments, suggesting acceptance of EVM outcomes only when favorable. He accused the opposition of inconsistency, supporting EVMs only when results are in their favor.
