On Wednesday, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced the filing of an FIR in the sexual assault case of an orphan girl from Pangi in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. Responding to Bharmour MLA Janak Raj, he assured strict actions against officials accused of negligence.
Controversy also stirred with Barsar BJP MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal raising concerns about the death of a youth from Hamirpur in a West Bengal engineering college. While classified as a drowning by police, the family suspects murder. The Himachal government plans to request further details from West Bengal's DGP.
Amidst these issues, Indora Congress MLA Malender Rajan's proposal against India's participation in the Asia Cup match versus Pakistan was spotlighted. The tensions between the two nations were cited as the reason for consideration by BCCI and the central government.
