President Vladimir Putin has dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump's reference to Russia as a 'paper tiger,' arguing that Moscow is confident in its military advancements across Ukraine. Speaking at a discussion forum in Sochi, Putin accused NATO of fuelling tensions with intelligence and weapons support for Ukraine.
Putin claimed that almost the entire NATO alliance is aligned against Russia and expressed skepticism over discussions of Russian aggression towards NATO members. He called for a de-escalated approach, asking NATO countries to focus on their own issues instead.
The Russian leader highlighted that Ukraine lacks manpower and insisted that Russia's control over key regions remains firm. Moscow is committed to maintaining its territorial claims until Ukraine agrees to negotiations.
