Union Minister Kiren Rijiju embarked on a two-day visit to Mizoram, aiming to bolster support for the BJP candidate in the forthcoming Dampa assembly by-election set for November 11. A senior party official disclosed this development following Rijiju's arrival in the state capital, Aizawl.
The Union Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister promptly traveled to West Phaileng, located within the Dampa assembly segment of Mamit district, to campaign for BJP candidate Lalhmangaiha. This move underscores the BJP's commitment to securing a win in the region.
While BJP's efforts intensify, other central leaders like Union Minister Jitendra Singh are expected to follow suit, joining the campaign trail. Meanwhile, the contest sees multiple parties, with the ruling Zoram People's Movement, Congress, main opposition MNF, and smaller parties, all vying for the pivotal seat.
