Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday accused Rahul Gandhi of offending devotees of 'Chhath Maiya' by dismissing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's religious devotion as 'drama'.
In a pointed interview with News18 India, Shah stressed that Gandhi's remarks would have dire consequences for the Congress party in the Bihar polls. Shah emphasized the widespread reverence for 'Chhath Maiya' across India, detailing the devotion shown during the festival.
The minister predicted that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would secure a two-thirds majority in Bihar and highlighted the 'double-engine government' successes under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Shah cited welfare improvements and governance transformations as key victories in contrast to previous administrations.
