Ukraine's Zelenskiy: to end the war, US leadership must remain effective
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Wednesday that U.S. leadership had to remain effective in order to bring the more than 3 1/2-year-old war with Russia to an end. "The main thing for stopping the bloodshed and achieving lasting peace is that we work in coordination with all our partners and that American leadership remains effective, strong," Zelenskiy wrote on Telegram after talks in Ankara with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan.
Zelenskiy said only the United States and U.S. President Donald Trump "have sufficient strength for the war to finally come to an end." The Ukrainian president also said Erdogan had proposed different formats for talks "and it is important for us that Turkey is ready to provide the necessary platform."
