BJP president J P Nadda has lauded Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's pivotal role in unifying India, while criticizing the Congress for ignoring him for four decades after Independence. According to Nadda, it is only under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership that Patel has found 'the correct and rightful place' in history.

Speaking at an event commemorating Patel's birth anniversary, Nadda recounted how Patel managed to consolidate 562 princely states into a unified nation within two years. He further accused the Congress of deliberately sidelining Patel during their governance from 1950 to 1991.

Nadda also praised Modi for building the world's tallest statue of Patel in Kevadia, describing it as a true tribute. He maintained that only Modi has succeeded in acknowledging Patel's contributions, offering a fitting homage to the 'Iron Man' of India.
