A senior Russian diplomat indicated the possibility of another meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump. Despite no breakthroughs in previous talks, diplomatic channels remain active. Both countries are considering involving China in discussions on nuclear de-escalation, although no official moves have been made.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump may meet again, according to a senior Russian diplomat. Moscow's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov revealed potential plans in a state-owned magazine, indicating ongoing dialogue despite unresolved issues.
The diplomats have maintained communication channels, even with recent failed negotiations in Alaska and an indefinitely postponed Budapest meeting. Ryabkov emphasized the impressive and well-functioning dialogue mechanisms between the two nations.
Additionally, the possibility of involving China in nuclear stability talks was mentioned. While Trump is open to including Beijing, Ryabkov clarified Moscow's stance of not pressuring China, with no formal U.S. proposal in sight.
