In response to media reports about the ongoing 'reverse migration' of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose announced plans to visit the BSF border outpost at Swarupnagar in North 24 Parganas district. The visit aims to provide him with direct insight into the situation.
Bose is set to arrive in the Hakimpara area of Swarupnagar around 3 pm on Monday, according to officials. After consulting with BSF officials, he will stay overnight in Krishnanagar, Nadia district, and proceed to Murshidabad's bordering areas on Tuesday.
Bose noted the media's varied interpretations regarding the return of Bangladeshi immigrants post the SIR exercise. He seeks to personally observe the conditions to form his own opinion. Highlighting the importance of the SIR, Bose expressed confidence in the Election Commission's ability to resolve any grievances.
