In a significant political development, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani administered the oath to the newly elected Congress MLA, Pramod Jain Bhaya, on Tuesday.

Bhaya, who took the oath in Hindi, was congratulated warmly by Speaker Devnani. The event was attended by the Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully, several MLAs, the assembly principal secretary, and other officials.

The bypoll was necessitated by the disqualification of BJP's Kanwar Lal Meena after his conviction in a criminal case. Currently, the Rajasthan assembly consists of 118 BJP seats, 67 Congress seats, and representation from other parties and independents.
