Actor-turned-politician Vijay has embarked on a political journey that some say echoes the legacy of iconic Tamil leader M.G. Ramachandran. His new party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has already begun to attract attention in Tamil Nadu's political landscape.

K A Sengottaiyan, a veteran leader previously affiliated with AIADMK, joined the TVK and sees a parallel between Vijay's endeavor and MGR's founding of the AIADMK back in 1972. According to Sengottaiyan, Vijay proudly displays images of MGR and Annadurai, emblematic figures in Tamil politics.

Switching allegiance from AIADMK to TVK, Sengottaiyan, now TVK's chief coordinator, expressed confidence in Vijay's prospects. He drew on history, reminding reporters of how MGR was initially underestimated, only to later establish a powerful and enduring political presence.
