In an escalating atmosphere of political anticipation, efforts are in high gear for the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) elections set to unfold in south Mizoram's Lawngtlai district. Officials confirmed that the final training phase for presiding and polling officers has been successfully concluded.
During an organized session, essential responsibilities and regulations were meticulously conveyed to the officials by skilled trainers, ensuring comprehensive readiness for the elections. Concurrently, 263 polling officials took part in postal voting at a designated facilitation center, exemplifying the proactive measures in place.
According to the electoral roadmap by the state election commission, the pivotal day for the 25-seat LADC polls is scheduled for December 3, with vote counting set for December 9. Various political forces, including the Zoram People's Movement, an MNF-Congress alliance, and the BJP, are vying for influence, amidst a voter base of 56,873 ready to participate in shaping their governance.
