Prem Kumar Poised to Become Bihar Assembly Speaker
Veteran BJP leader Prem Kumar has filed his nomination for the Bihar Assembly Speaker position. Supported by a robust NDA majority, his election appears certain as the opposition hasn't fielded a candidate. Intricacies involving the JD(U) and BJP have shaped the nomination dynamics.

Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prem Kumar took a significant step on Monday by submitting his nomination papers for the position of Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
The nomination occurred in the presence of high-profile political figures, including Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, alongside senior JD(U) leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary. This assembly signals strong alliances, with junior NDA members also showing support for Kumar.
The NDA, commanding 202 seats in the 243-member assembly, ensures a straightforward election for Prem Kumar, an eight-term MLA. The lack of a competing candidate from the 'Mahagathbandhan', consisting of RJD, Congress, and the Left, further cements Kumar's unchallenged path to becoming Speaker.
