Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has voiced his astonishment after the Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) issued a notice in connection with the National Herald case. Shivakumar emphasized that he had already provided comprehensive details to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), marking the police action as unexpected.
Shivakumar argued against the need for a separate police case given that the ED has already filed a chargesheet. He vowed to challenge the matter in court, maintaining transparency in his dealings and asserting the legitimacy of financial transactions associated with the case.
The deputy chief minister further accused authorities of harassment aimed at Congress figures, asserting attempts to undermine Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. The EOW has requested specific financial details and personal background information from Shivakumar, as the investigation, initiated by a complaint from former MP Subramanian Swamy, continues.
