Siwan's JD(U) MP Vijaylaxmi Devi has reported a menacing extortion call to the police, in which the caller demanded a hefty sum of Rs 10 lakh, threatening her life if the demand was not met. This alarming incident has raised security concerns among public officials in the region.
The police, upon registering the case at Mairwa police station, have begun a thorough investigation into the matter. They identified the suspect and disclosed that the same individual has been connected to similar threats against other officials, specifically targeting Barharia MLA Indradev Singh.
Officials revealed that the suspect has been following a pattern in these extortion schemes, targeting multiple public figures within the district. The situation underscores the increasing need for heightened security measures for public representatives.
