Actor-politician Vijay utilized his first public appearance in Puducherry to spotlight the central government's neglect of the Union Territory's demand for statehood. Speaking at a rally, he lauded Chief Minister N Rangasamy for his impartial governance.

With a significant crowd of over 5,000 attendees, Vijay contrasted the administration in Puducherry with that of Tamil Nadu's DMK, urging the latter to learn from Puducherry's example. He predicted that the DMK would face repercussions in the 2026 Assembly elections.
