Pakistan's political landscape is embroiled in controversy as Defence Minister Khawaja Asif accuses ex-ISI chief Faiz Hameed of orchestrating the demise of Nawaz Sharif's political career. Asif alleges that Hameed plotted a conspiracy resulting in Sharif's ousting and the subsequent rise of Imran Khan.
The convicted former spymaster, Faiz Hameed, was recently sentenced to 14 years by a military tribunal, yet further charges await him. Asif claims Hameed conspired with Imran Khan to damage the country, asserting that Khan's ascent to power through the 2018 elections was part of Hameed's agenda.
According to Asif, Hameed's tenure saw him manipulate political and legal systems, imprisoning opponents to aid Khan's government. Despite his recent conviction, Asif warns of continued influences aiming to restore Khan's power, all allegedly stemming from seeds sown by Hameed.
