A man in the Pinarayi area of Kannur suffered serious injuries, allegedly from mishandling an explosive device, police have confirmed.

Tensions flared as KPCC chief Sunny Joseph accused the man of being a CPI(M) worker and claimed that the incident occurred during the making of a country bomb.
